I love to paint the Marin landscape, Cityscapes and California landmarks. I also enjoy illustrating icons of the 50’s like surfing, Woodys, and Airstreams. Actually I am interested in most any subject that tells a story or invokes an experience.

I am a psychologist with many interests that have become wellsprings for my current art — early human consciousness, indigenous cultures and their ceremonial practices, shamanism, dreams. I sometimes feel as if figures are coming to me a netherworld in which archetypal figures come into form, and sometimes want to come out to say something. The extreme grief of our war-ravaged world is a substrate giving rise to these figures. They offer an invitation to look past the concrete world, to know ourselves as part of nature, and beyond that, a world of constantly changing energies and forms. Perhaps they are suggesting that new information and forms might emerge to aid in healing the world.

I am a ceramic sculptor who creates unique handcrafted pieces. My sculpture is unique, at times fun, and always thought-provoking; a way of expressing my views both politically and aesthetically.
My work spans from whimsical anthropomorphic animals, political / media genres, sensual hearts , beastie planter heads , life size bikinis to landscape paintings on sculptural forms.
All my work is all hand built with coils or slabs. I use a lot of sprigging in the English Wedgwood tradition and I make my own texture molds to embellish my work. My pieces are low fired, glazed and multi fired in an electric kiln. I make statements to make people stop and think or laugh and smile.
My family, an upbringing in Asia, science, and the world around me have a profound effect on my choice of subject matter. I like to work in series. I will often be working on different series at the same time.
In the landscape series I am inspired by the Mediterranean and North American landscapes, the sculptural forms that I have developed over a decade have become my canvases for using a watercolor technique where I draw and paint the visions I have into the topographical forms of the sculptures. Because I am concerned about the environment and the impact of humankind throughout the world, I feel compelled to record these snapshot vignettes of our beautiful landscapes before they are ruined or disappear altogether.
As a bee keeper and avid gardener bees and plants often find their way into my work.
I love making functional plates, platters and bowls to enhance the food I love to make for my friends. I make unusual vases for the flowers we grow for the bees.

My atmospheric, abstract works suggest an unveiling of secrets I uncover in my own journey. I strive to express the ethereal expansiveness of this life with works that present a contemplative and peaceful state where answers begin to reveal themselves in the chaos of creation.

I’m particularly fascinated by rocks, as well as their symbolic significance. Metaphors of time, impermanence, change, and solidity work together to convey the relationship between weight, gravity and the openness of space. The overall aesthetic portrays geometric, transparent overlays. There’s a paradoxical quality of the density of rock punctuated by light, making the form seem more ethereal than dense. Moreover, my paintings explore dimensional gravity with surprising visual effects, creating a suspended, fragmented landscape.
An integral part of my process involves photographing natural rock formations around Marin County, then drawing and painting in acrylic and oil from those initial images. My paintings begin with the kinetic, non-objective underpainting, which creates a surprising interplay with the intended composition. Additionally, these initial encounters inspire me to play with human-made rock formations, in particular cairns or stacked rocks that mark a path. Blind contour drawing is another technique I use, allowing me to have an intimate conversation with the world surrounding me. My inner nature becomes part of the subject as I recognize my own seasons and cycles reflected in nature. In this way making art becomes a bridge that connects the natural world with the realm of the sacred.

I paint to translate the world as I perceive it—through color, texture, and emotion. As a neurodivergent artist, abstraction is my language, a way to communicate the unseen rhythms and quiet intensities that shape my experience. My work is intuitive and immersive, driven by an obsession with color and a desire to evoke wonder, contemplation, and healing. Each piece is an exploration—of depth, movement, and the tension between structure and spontaneity. My paintings are not meant to be explained but felt, inviting viewers to connect with their own inner landscapes.

Hi All, I’m a California landscape painter working in oils. I work primarily in Plein air approach on square formats. I also love conveying mystery and whimsy and often paint birds, rabbits, cats, and dogs at play. I am drawn to the coastal hills and majestic oaks and have spent a lot of time out in Point Reyes over the pandemic. Paths are also a favorite theme.
The more whimsical works draw from inspiring moments of insight found in the relationship between humans and nature. Finding the steepness of a cliff, the curve of a branch, or a community of wintering birds notable.
The acceleration of our changing landscape is a constant confrontation and I hope to express our collective connection in an ever-changing and altering earth.

Wheel-thrown, high-fired porcelain Teapots, Jars, and more. Paintings of landscapes, watercolor. All of the above, I love creating.
Clay is an art medium that is truly limitless. It is both flexible and strong, capable of both abstract and realistic expression. Working with clay, the creative possibilities are endless. Throwing on the wheel, I feel the dynamic interaction between me and the clay. It is truly “centering”.
I work with Clay because like other Art mediums, it brings joy, hope, inspiration, and beauty to the world.

I document time and transformation by collecting, repurposing, and recombining materials. I explore the intrinsic qualities of materials and combine them to create new ways of looking. Hybrids of reclaimed wood and synthetics like foam and tapes are transformed from flat to undulating surfaces, creating new landscapes. My work is influenced by topography, geology, process, and chance.
I love the transformation process of reusing materials and reducing my carbon footprint. Chance and control jointly influence my work. Working with what materials I have available and controlling how materials are used become part of my work.
The forms and processes in my work are metaphors for personal transformation. My adult life is a journey of learning and discovery, both artistic and personal. I correct what is broken, remove what is unnecessary, and trust the process.
