Trained in classical realism at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, I see in the world around me an unending and rich abundance of inspiration. I choose to work in a realistic style. Increasingly, I feel there is so much fragmentation and chaos in our lives. Painting offers me (and, I hope, viewers of what I create) one of the best ways to experience wholeness and serenity. I never lack for ideas; both the mundane and the magnificent around us are worthy of celebration. Previously, I was a dancer and choreographer. Now I create on a 2-dimensional surface, but the experience is still one of problem solving, rapture, meditation and total immersion. I love doing what I do.
