At this moment I am trying to capture two constant influences in my life: the people I know who bring me joy, and the backdrop of elements in the natural world that are fighting back while they are challenged with destruction. I believe we need to listen to the wisdom of our trusted friends as well as that of our ancestors and allow them to support and guide us through what I perceive as very difficult, dangerous times. My pieces are 2d, 3d, and figurative. The portraits are mostly in oil, the landscapes are watercolor. Some of the demonic creatures are painted in acrylics and I have 3d work that incorporates a wide range of mixed media with electronics. This mashup of materials reflects my constant desire to always remain a student learning new methodologies. My art is at its best when I don’t entirely know what I’m doing.
